The Chinese Lantern Festival is tomorrow. The festival falls on the 15th day of the first month of the Lunar New Year and marks the end of the Chinese celebration of the New Year.The bright lanterns are thought of as symbols of good luck. As you can see in the picture above, they are quite ornate and elaborate.
Also, in ancient times, this day was one for love and matchmaking. Curfews were lifted and young people went out on the town and were encouraged to look for a new love. Let's hope this old tradition still holds up because I have a date that night with Catherine, a Burmese woman that I recently got the nerve up to ask out. She is a fun.
