There is an old Hindu proverb that says:
A poor teacher tells. An average teacher explains. The good teacher demonstrates. The excellent teacher inspires.
I think it expresses the very real differences in teachers. I have seen the 4 types of teachers in action. The school I work at is very big. Therefore, I have had a chance to witness many different types of teaching styles. After spending some time in a school it's very easy to see which teachers are inspired, and which ones are mailing it in...
I know that I am somewhere between the demonstrator and the inspirer, depending upon the day...lol.
